- You will need standard mechanics tools, such as assorted wrenches and sockets. You will also need a way to safely lift and support the car. Jack stands may work, but an automotive lift will provide better access. You will also need a spring compressor tool.
- Lift and support the vehicle, then remove the wheels. Next, remove the upper shock mounting nuts, stabilizer bar link and ball joint pinch bolt. Then, you can remove the shock absorber and spring assembly.
- Compress the spring with a spring compression tool. Remove the shock absorber upper mount bolt, then, remove the shock absorber from the shock absorber upper mount and spring. Last, remove the upper mount from the coil spring.
